    Carry-on baggage: Each passenger is allowed to bring one personal item and one carry-on bag on board. The personal item must fit under the seat in front of you, while the carry-on bag must fit in the overhead bin.

    • Carry-on bags: The maximum size of 9 in x 14 in x 22 in (22 cm x 35 cm x 56 cm), including any handles or wheels.

    24-hour flexible booking policy: There will be no change fees if you bought your ticket from United Airlines within the last 24 hours and made the purchase at least one week before your original scheduled departure flight.     No Change Fees: United Airlines has permanently gotten rid of change fees for most Economy and premium cabin tickets for flights within the U.S., or between the U.S. and Mexico or the Caribbean. The no change fees policy is also applicable for international travel originating in the U.S.

    Refund options: 
    Go to My Trips to first cancel the reservation and request a refund. The compensation you receive for a disruption to your flight and the type of ticket you have will determine whether you are offered a refund to the original payment method or a credit for a future flight.

    After canceling your reservation, fill out the refund form and United Airlines will contact you shortly to let you know whether your ticket qualifies for a refund. If your ticket qualifies, your refund will be credited back to your original form of payment. Please allow up to 7 business days for us to process your request.     Traveling with pets in-cabin is only allowed for cats and dogs when there’s space available.

    There is a $125 fee each way for traveling with your pet and a $125 fee for each layover of more than four hours for flights within the U.S. and more than 24 hours internationally. Travel credits cannot be used to pay this fee.

    • While there are no weight or breed limitations for pets, they must travel in either a hard-sided or soft-sided carrier.
