  1. What are JetBlue’s check-in policies?

    Online Check-in: Online check in is available up to 24hrs in advance through their website.

    Airport Check-in: : Check-in is also available through their mobile app. Download the app here and check in with just a few taps. 

    Baggage Check-in: The recommended airport arrival times and ticket counter hours differ from airport to airport. To prevent travel delays, it’s important to check for traffic and weather alerts and plan sufficient time to pass through TSA checkpoints, especially during peak travel days and holidays. We advise you to verify the specific recommendations for your airport to ensure a smooth travel experience. 

    Please note the following check-in cutoff times for domestic and international flights (subject to change):
    Domestic check-in cutoff times 
    • With checked bags: checked at the kiosk/bag drop 40 minutes prior to departure 
    • No checked bags: 30 minutes prior to departure

    International check-in cutoff times 
    • With checked bags: Checked at the kiosk/bag drop/ ticket counter 60 minutes prior to departure

    Note: Passengers without a boarding pass should check in at the kiosk for domestic flights and at the kiosk or ticket counter for international flights. 

  2. What is JetBlue’s baggage policy?

    Carry-on luggage: All fares include 1 personal item that fits the seat in front of you. The size limit for carry-on bags on flights should not exceed 17″ L (43.2 cm) x 13″ W (33 cm) x 8″ H (20.32 cm) including wheels and handles. This may be a purse, backpack, laptop bag, or approved pet carrier. 

    All Blue, Blue Plus, Blue Extra and Mint fares include a carry-on bag that fits in the overhead bin. Carry-on bags must not exceed 22″ L (55.88 cm) x 14″ W (35.56 cm) x 9″ H (22.86 cm) including wheels and handles. 

    Blue Basic fares do not allow a carry-on bag. Any carry-on bag brought to the gate (aside from a personal item that fits under the seat in front of you) will be charged an extra fee of $65 (if it would be your 1st or 2nd checked bag) or $180 (if it’s your 3rd).

    Blue Basic exceptions are:
    • Mosaic members (who get a carry-on bag and early boarding with all fares)
    • Travelers to/from the U.K. and Europe (including connecting flights)
    • Travelers that are combining a Blue Basic fare with an Even More® Space seat (on all legs, if connecting)
    • Active U.S. military
    • Unaccompanied minors 

    Among the aforementioned exceptions, only Blue Basic customers who purchase an Even More® Space seat (on all legs, if connecting) can be assured of bringing their carry-on bag on board.
    Those who have added a pet to a Blue Basic booking will be able to board with both a personal item and their approved pet carrier.

    Checked luggage: You may add up to two checked bags at any time from the time of booking until you reach the airport. To save money, it’s recommended that you purchase checked bags in advance on JetBlue’s website or app.

    Checked bags should not exceed 62″ (157.48 cm) in overall dimensions (length + width + height) or 50 pounds (22.68 kg). Bags that do not follow these requirements will incur a fee.

    Mosaic members flying on American-operated flights and AAdvantage elite members flying on JetBlue-operated flights are entitled to up to 2 free bags at time of check-in. Learn more .  

    Oversize or overweight baggage fees:
    • 51 lbs – 99 lbs: $150 per bag ($150/£120/€140 to/from the U.K. / Europe).
    • 63 in– 80 in:  $150 per bag ($150/£120/€140 to/from the U.K./Europe).

    Golf bags, fishing rods, skimboards, skis or snowboards count as one checked bag and can be added to your booking at any time. While it is subject to any checked bag fees for the fare purchased, it will not incur additional or oversized bag fees (as long as it’s within weight limits).  

  3. What are JetBlue’s cancellation policies?

    No change-fee: You have 24 hours from the time of booking to cancel your reservation for free if you booked your travel seven or more days prior to your scheduled departure date.  The entire booking must be canceled to qualify (not applicable for JetBlue Vacations reservations).

  4. What if I miss my flight?

    • Customers who request a flight change before the scheduled departure time on the same calendar day can utilize JetBlue’s same-day change options.
    • In case a nonrefundable JetBlue flight segment is not canceled or modified before the scheduled departure, all the funds related to that segment will be forfeited. This comprises any supplementary or optional purchases made, such as Even More® Space, priority security, additional baggage fees, and so on.

  5. Does JetBlue offer accessibility assistance?

    JetBlue offers mobility and wheelchair assistance at all airports. At both departure and destination airports, they offer boarding and deplaning aid, as well as the option of having a personal wheelchair available upon arrival at either the gate or the bag claim area.   6. What is JetBlue’s pet policy?

    Small dogs and cats may travel in the cabin in an FAA-approved pet carrier that fits comfortably under the seat in front of you. JetBlue has a one pet per passenger policy. 

    You may book your pet through the JetBlue website, the mobile app, or by contacting JetBlue. Pets can be added in the Extras section during booking.

    • The pet fee is USD $125 each way.
    • The maximum number of pets allowed per flight is six.
    • Your pet and approved pet carrier count as one personal item and must fit under the seat in front of you.
    • Your pet carrier should not exceed 17″ x 12.5″ x 8.5″ and the combined weight of your pet and the carrier must not exceed 20 pounds.
    • Carry-on bags are not permitted for those traveling on a Basic Blue fare, but you may bring a personal item in addition to the pet carrier.
    • Pets are not allowed in Mint.
    • Pets are not accepted on interline/codeshare bookings (regardless of where or how the booking was made), except select nonstop American Airlines-operated flights within the U.S. Please contact American Airlines directly to verify and add your pet and pet fee to the reservation. 
    • TrueBlue members can earn 300 extra points per flight segment for adding a pet to their booking.
    • Pets are not permitted on flights to Trinidad & Tobago or to/from U.K./Europe.
