  1. What are Eurowings’ check-in policies?

    Check in online as early as 72 hours before your scheduled departure time: Checking in online is available for passengers traveling with hand baggage. 

    Baggage Check-in: Eurowings counters open 2 hours before departure and close 40 minutes before departure. If you arrive late, you automatically waive your entitlement to transport.

  2. What is Eurowings’ baggage policy?

    Carry-on luggage: Free hand baggage per fare 

    Size and weight restrictions: 
    • Small cabin bags should not exceed the maximum dimensions of 40 x 30 x 25 cm.
    • Large cabin bags should not exceed a maximum dimension 55 x 40 x 23 cm. 

    Small cabin bag: 
    • Included in the BASIC fare free of charge
    • A second small cabin bag can be taken on board free of charge if you have an infant (0-24 months) sitting on your lap. 

    Large cabin bag: 
    • Not included in the BASIC fare 
    • Can be addd with Eurowings’ “2 Cabin Bags & Priority Boarding” service which is available starting €19

    Oversize or overweight baggage fees:

    If your booked fare does not already include each luggage item, you will be charged an extra fee for it. Luggage exceeding 23 kg in weight will be charged an additional flat-rate excess luggage fee.

    Initial luggage weighing up to 23 kg booked through Eurowings’ website will be an additional charge starting at €17 / £15 / CHF 17 / $17 / CZK 417 / SEK 186 / NOK 176 / DKK 126 / PLN 81 / 6.964 HUF per route and passenger. The amount and currency of the fee depend on the specific route.

    When booked at the airport: additional  €40 / £35 / CHF 40 / $48 / CZK 981 / SEK 438 / NOK 413 / DKK 298 / PLN 190 / HUF 16.385 will be charged if a passenger chooses to book at the airport counter (the amount and currency of the fee depends on the route). Passengers will be required to pay an extra fee for excess luggage if they check in more than one piece of luggage weighing 23 kg each. 

  3. What are Eurowings’ cancellation policies?

    Cancellation of flights: 
    If you have selected the Flex Premium option when booking your SMART or BizClass fare, you can cancel your flight before web check-in closes prior to departure at no extra charge. There are four ways to do this:
    • Via our website under “My flight”
    • Via our mobile services under “Manage flights”
    • Via our call centre

    Flex Premium offers the additional benefit of allowing flight cancellations after the original departure time, as long as the cancellation is made on the same calendar day as the original flight’s departure via phone through the call center. If the cancellation is not made until after the original departure date, a fee will be charged..

    If you have selected another fare, your booking cannot be cancelled due to the low-cost price of the flight.

    For tickets booked via a travel agency, please get in touch with them. 

    Changing flights:
    Passengers are allowed to modify the date of their Eurowings flight before the web check-in closes prior to departure, as long as the flight will be taken by the same person on the same route and within the published flight schedule. This modification can be done through the online portal, mobile phone, call center or at the airport counter.

    Changing your booking via telephone or in person will result in an additional processing fee, unless you booked your flight with the Flex Light or Flex Premium option. 

    Flex Light is part of Eurowings’ flexibility guarantee and comes with no extra cost when booking a flight. It enables you to change your flight schedule without limitations until 40 minutes before the departure time. Only the price difference to the new flight will be charged. 

    Flex Premium can be added to SMART and BIZclass tariffs for an additional charge and allows unlimited free rebooking and cancellation until the Web Check-in closes.

  4. What if I miss my flight?

    If you miss your Eurowings flight, you will need to contact Eurowings as soon as possible to see if you can rebook or get a refund.

    • Eurowings only transports small dogs and cats (up to 8 kg) and only in the cabin.
    • This service on short and medium-haul flights. Animals are not transported on long-haul flights.
    • The EU regulation on the veterinary requirements for the carriage of pets must be observed. Please read the rules before booking or ask your vet, the veterinary office or the border control point.
